Creative works on ‘Nothing’

2009 – inspiration to create works on ‘Nothing’

2010 - Dec - artistic feedback and mentoring from Sally Dean

2011 - Jan – created visual images of proposal instead of written proposal – Cloud Clock Love (CCL) was created.

2011 - Feb to March – researched for potential venues and supporters.

2011 – April – confirmed venue, supporters and applied for artist residency

2011 – May to June - attended ACE workshop and submitted proposal; and started artist residency as part of the preparation process of CCL work.

2011 – July to Aug – continuous residency works and development of performance scores.

2011 – Aug to Sept – succeed Cloud Clock Love proposal, from the National Lottery through Arts Council England. – Delivered the activity of CCL – part one.

2011 – Sept to Nov/Dec – evaluation CCL; – further self-trainings (physical/management/artistic development works); – planning for one-year durational lab at ]performance space[;

2011 - Nov/Dec - recruitment for project assistant and admin post; - delivered the activity of CCL - part two - preparation and research

2011 - Dec - one week holiday off to do nothing about work/project.

2012 – Jan – completing a full proposal for one-year durational lab;
- CCL: part two/writing up ebook and design.
- job recruitment.
- preparation for funds raising international platforms.
- continuous self-trainings (physical/management/artistic development works)
- submit proposal before Jan or beginning of Feb 2012.

2012 – Feb – completing the ebook and design; distributing the ebook to multiple platforms. – submit proposal before Feb 2012 and aim to deliver next project “.          .” in April 2012 to April 2013 if everything runs smoothly.

2012 – March – evaluation of CCL project both part one and two.

2012 – April – deliver the next project.

Performance scores are the key elements of my creative process in making works. Each scores can also be the stand-alone art pieces or act as a starting point for making new performance and art pieces.

Works depend what opportunities come in, chaotic, sometimes one project in 6 months, sometimes five projects in a month.
Multiple layers of projects – directors, associated artists, associated with the company’s works.
Producing – Get all the supporters in before the projects start

Work with different shows and commissions work

E.g. Artists residency will be focused on the artists’ ideas. Would Tara Arts work with no idea?

Artist in residency… bed rooms.. national and international works (Richard)
Works have to be seen by the producers team and excited by the producer, not just based on paper proposal.

Work across all areas (Tate, site-specific, etc.) through story telling
E.g. R&D – audience was part of the development process, how is this structured? Throw things out to audience and wait for responses
Do they approach venues across all art forms?

My question:

How can an Independent artist producing works across theatre, dance, visual arts and digital arts? And do I need to fit into one of the categories in order to get the ‘lottery’?
